ZDE has always had an interest in Sport Aviation. In the early 1990s, ZDE became the exclusive distributor of Cuyuna and 2si engines for the recreational market, supplying OEMs, dealers, and end-users around the world. When AMW Cuyuna Engine Company suspended the manufacture of recreational engines in 2003, ZDE became the world’s largest source of Cuyuna and 2si engine parts.

MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO

Roger Zerkle

Roger Zerkle has been doing the business for 31 years. Before that he was in the navy during Vietnam and then he became an aviation maintenance instructor at a college. He bought out some buildings in flat rock Illinois and started the business. Lawn mower dealership. Was licensed with a company called Cuyuna and bought intellectual property and parts from them and was a global dealer for a little bit.
